This week's learning / interesting fact:

This

is a pizza knife.

You can tell, because it says so. It seems houses here have them - ours did when we arrived.

You may ask "What is a pizza knife?" But the more important question is "Why is a pizza knife?"

From our experience, and to our surprise we found out. We have indulged in a few take away pizza nights, after long rides or long days when we haven't had the energy / initiative to cook. We are not that far from Italy here, pizzas are pretty good.

But take away pizzas....

ARE NOT SLICED!!!!!!

Meaning you have to do it at home. With (apparently) a knife not a wheel.

So, good to know.

As evidenced by an impressive cool change in the previous week that left us close to hyperthermia, winter has belted back for the full week (and, it looks like, another week at least). Rain every day, temperatures around 10 degrees. So, less cycling and more walks locally between showers.

There are, of course, laaaaarrvellly, walks between the local perched villages, with photos before the rain hit (naturally)...

Walks through local vineyards and forests...

And, on a rare day that didn't rain, a ride past some hungry livestock to a winery (Chateau Font de Broc). Not particularly local, but stunning...

We arrived with empty panniers, left with added weight in the form of bottles of wine, strictly for resistance training purposes of course.
