So, It's been a while - and a bit has transpired

A couple of reflections masquerading as this post's lessons

The whole is equal to greater than the sum of the parts #1.

We had the first of our visitors recently.

Part 1 - Good friends are good

We took in some walks around Fayence

and, would you believe it, found ourselves at a local winery!

Part 2 - Good wine is good.

Learning - Good friends and good wine is a really good combination.

There seems to be a late transition from winter to summer happening here. Provence is supposed to have 300 days of sunshine a year - we seem to have scooped up the remaining 56 days already in our 2 1/2 months...

But, when the sun does shine, the bikes come out, both locally

:

and, making use of a car to go around Lac de Chaudanne

which was followed by:

The whole is equal to greater than the sum of the parts #2.

We indulged in a hire car and drove four hours into Italy, landing in the Piedmont region, near the wine growing areas of Borolo and Barbaresco.

Part 1 - Good wine is good (part 2) especially where you see it growing.

and we took the opportunity to indulge in some local fine food:

Part 2 - Good food is good, especially when it is prepared locally

.

Which brings us to proposition 1:

There is no such thing as too much good food and wine.

Lived experience in response:

The above may not be entirely accurate.......

We did seek expert advice on the local wines, probably bought a bit too much, realising we can't take it back with us.

However, last word to a local philosopher, grounded in her or his environment:
