Confession of the week
You can take the boy out of Australia
But you can't take Australia out of the boy
It took Tony about 10 days to cave completely and pay way too much to have this home delivered. Culture shock eased....
Learning of the week
The most picturesque and enjoyable bike ride in Provence is......
The last ride you did.
After the blinding flash of the obvious hit us, being that riding through peri-urban roads has more traffic and less scenery (& steeper hills with cars careering towards you around every corner) we have shifted to riding out into the hills.
And, OMG....
Highlights were, getting out of Grasse traffic to ride into St Cesaire-sur-Siagne

..and... Cabris and St Vallier-de-Thiey loop

And a Saturday ride out past Mons to Tete de Cornet

Tony has also found the local rowing club -
and the further lesson this week is that, when the Mistrals are blowing at about 50 km/h+, and you haven't been in a single for 17 years, and it's an open water lake - when most of the locals decide not to go out..... I should follow their lead and put the boat back in the shed. Tony practiced kinesthetic learning by physically feeling the impact of the poor decision...
Spring is taking hold, blossoms are out and deciduous trees budding up and about to burst with leaves. Had our first al-fresco dining experience on Friday evening - still pretty "freshco", but it's warming up from here on!
This was our view in the sun for a post row espresso and charcuterie board...
Looking forward to next weekend - heading to Paris for easter and, after that, with daylight savings changing here, Tony not having to start work at 4:00 am
