Au revoir

And so, it has come to this…

We are now going back to where we don’t drive on the right, the weather isn’t the same day in and day out, the coffee not universally ordinary and the March flies don’t start biting in late August.

Last week was a week of melancholy reflection, this week was all logistics of cleaning, planning, packing, shipping, extracting ourselves from our lease and, finally, heading ff to spend our last night in Nice, which involved food & wine

Evenings walk

Morning swim

Then off to the airport

Writing this has not just been a way to stay in touch with family and friends but has encouraged us to look back every week or two on what we have been doing.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be able to do this, but we also just set out to do something special and a bit audacious, and we feel it has been as good as it could have been – that is, really special!

And looking back over these 6 months, whether it was at the start in Nice

On our bikes locally

In Paris

On the beach

In the hills

On the azure coast

In Piedmont

Col d’Izoard

At le tour de France

In Marseille

In the streets of Fayence

Or back in Nice

We always seemed to be smiling (all the way to our toes)

Now, next plan is to carry some of all this with us as we move on the life and other adventures

Thanks for tuning in....
